Delirium
Age:
Del's the youngest of the Endless. Even so, the Endless have been around since before time.
She looks like she's in her early twenties or so.
Appearance:
She is usually quite short and pretty thin. One of her eyes is blue and the other one is green. Typically the green one will have silver flecks, but sometimes she forgets which one to put the silver flecks in and the blue one will. Also sometimes the eyes will switch color - that is, if the left one had been blue while the right one had been green, they might swap with the right one being blue and the left one being green. Her hair is usually blonde with lots of different colored streaks. But, this too can change. Sometimes half of her head will be shaved while the other one isn't, and then they'll switch sides. Her shadow never reflects her actual shape and is tangable, like velvet. She smells of sweat, late nights, sour wine, and old leather.
Her clothing is usually as mismatched as her hair and eyes. Sometimes she will simply wear a long T-shirt that comes to her knees, while other times she'll wear fishnet stockings.
Other Things:
Delirium doesn't speak normally. ShE sPeAkS lIkE tHiS. She is scatterbrained, typically loses her train of thought and says random things totally out of context. She often travels with a fish on a string (real fish swimming through the air with a string attached to it like a balloon), and sometimes blows bubbles into impossible shapes (diamonds, crosses, cats). She does not like being bored, nor when she thinks people are being mean to her.
The Basics of The Endless:
Okay, so, the Endless are all an idea. Destiny's the oldest, and there's Death, Dream, Destruction, Desire, Despair, and then finally Delirium (who was once Delight).
Each Endless has a realm which shows an aspect of their personaolity, which is also defined and caught up in the idea they portray. For example Delirium's realm is a completely chaotic, ever changing mass of colors, objects and shapes. Destiny's realm is a maze of paths, showing that each path in life leads to a different place.
Each Endless has basically phenomnical powers, specifically over what happens to their realm, those people in their realm, and the people who belong to them. Belonging to an Endless basically means that you have a lot to do with that idea. If someone's depressed they most likely belong to Despair. If they are also suscidal then they belong to both Despair and Destruction. If they commit suscide, Death will come for them. No one really belongs to Death. That is, I can't think of an example. You can work for Death (an assassin) but that's not the same thing as belonging. Dream's people are usually very creative and artistic. Shakepeare, for instance, belonged to Dream. The best writers and artists belong to Dream, and a good many spent a fair amount of time in Delirium's realm as well.
